"These are days, you'll remember." 10,000 Maniacs
I've been remembering days.
11 days. The age of sweet baby Marvin McClellan when I photographed him this past weekend.
32,871 days. The age of Marvin DeGraaf when Matt and I ate cake and ice cream with him to celebrate his 90th birthday this week!
What special days, the ones connecting such different Marvins.
23 days since the EF-4 tornado tore through the Wendt’s farm in Mitchellville.
2,754 days since I had photographed their family in front of their barn built in 1886.
My family got to join many other hands with the cleanup work and the 1886 sign was found in the destruction. Those days now make the images on their family farm immeasurably more meaningful.
27 days. The length of time between Larry Diekema passing, and his wife, Carol following him earlier this month. I couldn’t count how many people expressed their thanks for the recent, complete, and beautiful family portrait on display at the memorial. A portrait I created with so much love for my friends in the frame, now gone.
7218 days since I got married. My 20th wedding anniversary is quickly approaching, and I have not forgotten about my Anniversary Portrait Special! Once I wrap up the Headshot Special, it will be released to those not on my newsletter list.
These are days I've been remembering. Which ones have you?
When was the last time you had your family portrait taken? When was the last time you had it displayed in your home as a work of art?
While I have something created for my own family each year, if it has been more than two for you, please call me. Each day is precious. Each one significant.
Don’t miss the opportunity to celebrate the family you have today.
They ARE a reason to celebrate.
with love,
Kat
