“Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.” Earl Nightingale
The time will pass anyway.
I can remember thinking, it will take us over 8 years to become debt free.
It will take over 2 years to become a Certified Professional Photographer.
It will take 3 to 5 years to become a Master Photographer.
But the time passed. And now I’m a debt free M.Photog, CPP.
I can remember thinking, it will take years to save for a studio.
It will take years to master studio lighting.
It will take years to create desire for indoor portraits with my on-location clients.
But the time passed. And now I own a beautiful studio, serving clients in many new ways with masterful studio lighting.
But, ahem, time passed. And there is a side effect of working toward all those dreams… outdated headshots! So for fun, I’m going to show you how my headshots have evolved over the last 15 years. Get ready for a good laugh!
So I just had my own headshots updated again, to prepare for my new set of dreams.
Dreams of attending my first Texas School (held loosely of course, because you know, COVID). Of receiving my Craftsman Degree for teaching other professionals. Of elevating my work as an artist.
But getting my new headshots was harder than I thought.
I still get a bit nervous in front of the camera. I still panic and bring more clothes than I need just in case. I still have to trust who is on the other side of that camera!
Just like you.
So thank you, to each of you brave enough to trust me, confident enough to let me help you with wardrobe and styling, and human enough to bring everything but the kitchen sink to your sessions sometimes.
I know I want to be classy… and I know that tacky comes out instead.
I know I want to choose the understated French manicure… and I walk out with electric pink sparkles instead.
I know that less is more… but I put on the extra accessory that Coco would have said to take off.
But I also know how to guide you to the best version of you. With or without all the sparkles!
So, let’s elevate your headshot. Let’s celebrate wherever you are with your dreams. I would love to hear about them!
And while I might need shades to protect me from my latest mani while driving… we’ve both got dreams to work toward.
And the time will pass anyway.
With love,
Kat
